Shawn H. Gundrum
Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer

As Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Gundrum leads the planning for and execution of sales and delivery business functions, the management of all operations personnel within CALIBRE’s four operations Divisions, and the support of business development personnel.  In this role, Mr. Gundrum will lead and facilitate corporate operations, growth, plans, and procedures.  He is a steward of the CALIBRE culture and vision, promoting and enabling our continued excellence.

Mr. Gundrum is a recognized subject matter expert across the Army training domain. A former Army Officer, Mr. Gundrum’s expertise and background brought him to CALIBRE in 2009 under the Army’s Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Sustainable Range Program (SRP).  Following a successful tenure cultivating client relationships and participating in the win of one of CALIBRE’s largest-ever contract vehicles, Mr. Gundrum achieved sales and revenue growth on that contract of over $250M over a five year period.  He developed the strategic vision, designed and implemented the approach, and cultivated a high-performance team to execute the strategy.  Mr. Gundrum championed several strategic initiatives, including ISO 9001:2008 certification for the Training, Infrastructure, and Environment (TIE) Division and the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) audit program.  Mr. Gundrum has helped develop and implement strategies to continue CALIBRE’s growth while maintaining our corporate culture and values.  

Mr. Gundrum is a proven executor and change leader.  He hired and trained numerous future CALIBRE leaders and established an organizational structure to increase competitiveness in a challenging landscape.  As the Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Gundrum will continue to help position the company to achieve future growth. 

Mr. Gundrum earned a B.S in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, as well as an MBA from The College of William and Mary.  He is a graduate of CALIBRE University’s Executive Series and a certified Project Management Professional.   In addition to his CALIBRE duties, Mr. Gundrum also serves as an Engineering Economics lecturer at The Catholic University of America.
